MMORPG, as known massively multiplayer online role-play game, is one of the most popular game types in the world game universe. Warhammer Online as a MMORPG has many MMO features like other online games. For instance, War allow you collect experience to complete your War power leveling, War storyline are known by players through missions and quests, and then players gain War currency (cheap Warhammer gold) as rewards from finishing quests. Public quests are special quests in Warhammer Online. While exploring Warhammer Online players will inevitably come across Public Quests.
What are public quests?
Public quests are different with other MMORPG that are tasks that run out in a specific location and have set goals for you to achieve. Each goal achieved will advance the quest to the next stage giving you new goals to complete. Each step in the quest becomes increasingly difficult and most are coupled with timers forcing you to meet the requirements in a short period of time. The more difficult achieved and the more rewards players can gain, such as War gold, War items and so on. Everything from killing a set number of mobs or seige targets to capturing bases and flags should be expected.
PQs offer an exciting goal oriented mission to accomplish, while catering to everyone! The casual, hardcore, grouping or soloing gamer will all find the Public Quest a viable and easy method to level, gear up, and meet other players.
How does rewards to distribute?
Players can join in a public quest regardless of what stage it is in, and don't even need to group (but can make coordination a little easier). Experience and rewards are based on how much each player contributed to the overall PQ goals (see below), ranking each player from top to bottom in this way. The top contributors will gain more points than lower contributors and thus have a higher chance of getting the best loot. There is also a roll involved between zero and one thousand which can tip the loot scales a sunstantial amount.
After the roll is complete the contribution and roll scores are added together and the partakers are ranked. Depending on the number of players taking part in the public quest there are a number of loot bags provided. The loot bags however are not always the same quality. The bags awarded are random and the best bag is given to the highest ranked player, the second best bag is given to the second best player and so on. This does not mean placing first always gets you better items however as it is common for all the bags to be the same (low) grade. The bag grades are ranked by colour with white being the lowest, followed by green then blue, purple and the best bag is the Warhammer gold one. All these functions take place within the game system and players simply have to pause and see if they are selected for loot and then to go pick it up out of a giant treasure chest that spawns after the final tier of the PQ is completed.
